Audio recording equipment and audio interfaces are getting more affordable every year. Never before has it been this simple to capture clean audio from your synths, drum machines or even acoustic instruments. However, clean sounds are not always a preference.
We like to add some grit and character to make the recordings unique and 'imperfect.' There are a lot of tools we can use to achieve this. Run your sounds through tape simulators, distortions, guitar amps or for a softer result. Slight saturation can go a long way too. Experiment and start building your sonic pallet!
