#AudiotentTip 223. Bitcrushing Your Kick.
When designing your kick drum, if you find it's still getting lost inside a busy mix try adding a bit crusher in parallel.
First, send the kick to a send/aux and apply a high pass filter. Next add a bitcrusher, adjust the downsampling and resolution to taste. Then, blend back in with the original kick. This can lead some very unique and gritty sounding kicks.
