#AudiotentTip 129. Multiband Transient Design.
Transient designers are great for shaping the attack and sustain part of your sound. Single band transient designer effects the entire signal. However, sometimes we need more control over a particular frequency band, this is where the multi band transient designer comes in handy.
E.g. The snare drum sounds great in the high end, but the low midrange (200-300hz) rings for too long. We can select this particular area and shorten it’s sustain, without effecting the rest of the signal. This would create a punchier snare drum sound, keeping the high end in tact.
