One way to increase the room of your snare drum is to use a fast parallel compression. An 1176 type compressor works great for this. Place the 1176 on a send/aux channel and compress the signal heavily. Now, blend the send channel back in the with the dry. This allows you to retain some of the original dynamics. Don't be afraid to push it harder for a more aggressive sound.
