#AudiotentTip 141. Reverb Impact Effects.
A great way to create a nice ambient impact is to use a long reverb. First, choose a percussive sound and add a bandpass filter with the steepest available filters. Make the bandpass range really narrow.
Choose a sweetspot frequency for your sound, this usually resides anywhere from 1k to 6k. Now apply a long reverb, 10+ seconds is a good starting point.
This creates a very focussed atmosphere impact effect. Resample and reverse for build up tension.
