Audiotent Tip 368. Reverb Limitation.
There are countless reverb plugins available at our disposal today. With all this choice we often tend to use too many different reverb algorithms for a single project.
Room, chamber, hall, plate and spring reverb all combined into one track will more than likely make your mix sound messy and unrealistic.
Try to limit your reverb spaces to one or two per project.
E.g. Small ambience (mostly early reflections) to give your dry sounds a little stereo width and '3d' atmosphere.
Secondly, a larger space (room, hall, plate or chamber etc.) for depth and dimension. This will make your music sound like it was played in one particular location and appear more cohesive.
