To create deep, three dimensional mixes try to use contrasting sounds. For example;
Your mix is full of reverb - add something completely dry, without any spacial #FX.
Your mix is clean - introduce a distorted, saturated sound that it more aggressive.
Your mix is wide - make a selected audio track completely mono.
