When working on electronic dance music, there are a lot of ways to create tension before the drop. A Drum fill or a vocal phrase seem to be a very common technique. However, we encourage to try out a simple gap of silence followed by a reverse effect. It will help to reset listener's ears and the impact of the drop will be greatly increased.
